On the eve of the 2024 Kansas elections and the race for the presidency, Dr. Bob Beatty, professor and chair of the Washburn political science & public administration department, will examine the campaigns for Kansas 2nd and 3rd Congress, the Kansas legislature and the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. His talk will feature a discussion of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly's quest for Democrats to win enough seats to overturn the Repulican supermajority in the Kansas legislature and the multitude of political action committees spending money in the state. He will show the TV ads that both parties are running in Kansas. He will also look at the presidential race from the standpoint of which candidate can win the electoral college.
