Students in the Education Department's Teacher Preparation Program will be joined by veterans from the surrounding community who represent the Gage Park War Memorial for a luncheon. The veterans will talk with Washburn students about experiences, goals of honoring/celebrating the veterans and sharing message/information they want shared with future generations. This event is one of many that will occur this semester with the veterans. Other events include visiting the Gage Park Memorial, giving a donation to the memorial, volunteering at the memorial's fundraiser and purchasing/placing bricks at the memorial in honor of Washburn veterans. These events are sponsored by CTEL. This is an invitation-only event.
