Major Angela McHardie is the Deputy Director of the Shawnee Juvenile Detention Center. Major McHardie has worked with the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for 26 years. She started with the Shawnee County Department of Corrections as an Adult Center Corrections Officer and worked her way through the Supervisor ranks on both the Adult and Juvenile Detention Centers. Major McHardie has worked for several years on improving the Juvenile Justice system in Shawnee County through the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative and other Juvenile Detention Reform initiatives. Major McHardie has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Washburn University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
