"Agol: A Tragedy of Power" (1920) will be virtually screened as part of the Historical Movie Nights series, sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta in partnership with WUmester. These movies are free for all to watch.

"Agol: A Tragedy of Power" (1920) will screen tomorrow, February 17 at 7 p.m. The movie follows a space alien from Algol as he offers coal-miner Robert Herne a power-generating machine that will free mankind from its dependence on carbon-based fuels. The device not only liberates Herne from the drudgery of his own working life, but offers a new, sustainable power base for earth. Matt Nyquist (Film Studies) and Tom Prasch (History) talk over the silent film to provide running commentary.
